Juan Manuel Guzman is from Mexico City. After high school, he decided go to the Seminary in Mexico. He studied Philosophy and Theology in the seminary. After 7 years he moved to Boise Idaho to study English and after that he went to “Mount Angel Seminary” in Oregon to continue his studies. After a process of discernment he decided go leave the seminary to reconsider his discernment concerning the priesthood. He returned to Mexico City to spend time with his family, especially with his mom.

Juan Manuel is the first of three brothers, his parents and brothers live in Mexico City, he rejoice time with his relatives, specially his parents and brothers playing table games, talking about different topics, and cooking everyone on the weekends.

Juan Manuel enjoys sports, specially running, to get on a bicycle, and camping in the mountains, he loves to cook from different places, and he is interested in meeting people from different places, cultures and ideas. He is interested in knowing different perspectives of life. He is working now in Saint Mary’s parish in Indianapolis, IN. with Fr Michael O’Mara, he is interested in putting is many years of education into practice as the pastoral associate on saint Mary parish all his knowledge at the service of the community with father Michael.

Juan Manuel Guzmán es originario de la Ciudad de México. Estudio la preparatoria y después entro al seminario en la arquidiócesis de Tlalnepantla, México. Estudio la carrera de filosofía y tres anos de la carrera de teología en el mismo seminario. Después de 7 anos en el seminario se movió a la ciudad de Boise, Idaho para estudiar ESL por 9 meses, para después ir a “Mount Angel Seminary” en Oregon para continuar con su preparación. Después de un proceso de discernimiento decidió salir del seminario para clarificar su vocación sacerdotal y regreso a México para dicho fin y compartir tiempo con su familia, en especial con su mama.

Es el primero de tres hermanos. Sus padres y hermanos viven ahora en Cd de México. El disfruta de compartir con sus padres y hermanos los fines de semana y jugar juegos de mesa, platicar acerca de diversos temas y cocinar los fines de semana juntos.

A Juan Manuel le gusta practicar deportes al aire libre, en especial correr, andar en bicicleta y acampar en las montanas, cocinar diferentes tipos de comida, y siempre está interesado en conocer gente, lugares y formas de pensar diferentes. Ahora el está viviendo en la Cd de Indianápolis como asociado pastoral de la parroquia de Santa María junto al Padre Miguel O’Mara. Ahora él quiere poner en práctica todos sus conocimientos al servicio de la comunidad y hacer crecer a la comunidad en la fe junto al padre Miguel.
